When a wind or solar farm is constructed, it can affect the animals and plants present on the site. In order to protect protected species, it is necessary that the designer has good knowledge of their presence within and around the planned activity. To facilitate this process, Renewable Sweden's environmental specialists have developed species conservation studies based on inventories and existing data.
- We understand the importance of protecting our threatened species and their habitats, says Tim Hipkiss Senior Consultant Environment and Permits at Renewable Sweden. By offering species protection investigations, we can help companies ensure that planned activities do not adversely affect protected species.
Renewable Sweden's species protection investigations include a careful assessment of the risk that a protected species would be adversely affected by the activity. If necessary, the company may also propose protective measures to reduce the risk of impact as well as reinforcement measures that can contribute to a positive effect on the species.
- We are proud to offer this service to promote the transition to sustainable energy production and ensure that renewable energy and the protection of our threatened species can go hand in hand, says Renewable Sweden's CEO Jeanette Lindeblad.
