Onshore wind power has been under development and expansion for nearly 40 years and is an important contribution to the Swedish energy mix. Many of today's existing turbines are nearing the end of their technical life, meaning many owners are faced with a choice of path.
Should you let them stand and produce until they are exhausted or can something be done to extend their lifetime — or the place?
Renewable energy is about conserving resources, building sustainability at all levels and using the land in the best possible way. The older works in SE3 and 4 are usually built on fantastic wind farms that are worth nurturing and managing. This can be done by maintaining one's wind turbines or by extending their lifetime through improvements within existing building permits or permits. Today there are also more options such as supplementing with solar, battery storage or support services.
We hope that wind farm owners, investors and municipalities share Renewable Sweden's view of the possibilities of repowering and invest in securing good wind conditions for the future.
