Permits and local utility in Swedish Wind Power

The latest issue of Svensk vindkraft's member magazine is appropriately themed Permits & Local Utility. Two of Renewable Sweden's collaborators Cecilia Dalman Eek and Heidi Laine Lundgren are passionate about these issues and participate in the latest issue with their respective perspectives. Cecilia Dalman Eek, on behalf of Renewable Sweden, has developed the concept of Wind Value, which largely follows and develops the proposals in the Incentive Survey SOU 2023:18 The Value of Wind while Heidi Laine Lundgren has experience of how municipalities can work to ensure that the local benefit of a wind farm, on land or offshore, will land regionally.

The Government's announcement on compensation to the municipalities will be followed by further directives on how the value of wind is to be shared by local residents and local communities. At the press conference, Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari said that the government intends to continue working on revenue sharing and rural funds as well as the possibility of redemption of homes. Wind Value includes both of the former and will now also develop the part with the possibility of redemption.
