Preview™ takes on a new dimension — visualizations take off with Comotion

Renewable Sweden launches a new collaboration with Comotion, which gives our services within Preview another distinct boost. Combining industry knowledge with advanced visualisation technologies creates a basis that makes it easier to understand and communicate how future energy projects such as solar and wind farms affect the landscape.

Preview™ is Renewable Sweden's service portfolio for visual media in energy projects. Photography, methodology and industry knowledge are combined to produce realistic visualizations that strengthen consultation, EIA and dialogue with local residents and decision-makers. The goal is to help project owners show, not just describe, how an energy project affects their environment.

To further develop Preview™, Renewable Sweden is now starting a collaboration with the visualisation studio Comotion. Together, we offer the energy industry accurate and close to reality visualizations and VR experiences of renewable energy projects, even before they are built.

The collaboration combines Renewable Sweden's understanding and expertise in project communication, consultation and EIA with Comotion's technical expertise in 3D visualisation, film and interactive technology. The result is evidence that strengthens the dialogue with both authorities and local residents and that makes it easier to understand the visual impact of the projects.

“We see a growing need for visualizations, especially in the solar industry, that are not only stylish but also relevant and credible. With Comotion, we get a partner who can realize our ideas technically, while we stand for content, methodology and context,” says Janne Persson, brand strategist and creator at Renewable Sweden.

Within Preview™, Renewable Sweden is responsible for the idea, shooting from the ground and drones, developing the photo point map and method description. Comotion transforms this into visualizations that can include drone sequences, ground perspectives, 360 experiences and interactive maps.

The first joint delivery has already been completed and the cooperation has proved to be a success. The visualizations serve as a concrete tool to increase understanding, reduce uncertainty and create better conditions for constructive dialogue in the early stages of projects.
