Application for repowering Falkenbergsmotet submitted

The team at Renewable Sweden has had the exciting task of producing consultation materials, visualisations and an environmental impact assessment that will enable the replacement of the 15 existing works east of the motorway at Falkenbergsmotet with four new modern works. The environmental impact assessment and permit application for the repowering of Falkenbergsmotet have now been submitted by the project owner Tekniska Verken i Linköping Vind AB.

Falkenbergsmotet is a wind location worth cherishing.
The area has been used for wind farms since 1998 and in 2020 the property owners began exploring the possibility of switching the existing wind turbines east of the E6. Through repowering, already affected sites are exploited and there is a development infrastructure with roads and electricity connections, for example. At the same time, the locations of wind turbines are optimized from a wind point of view.

The design of 4 wind turbines presented in the application is estimated to provide an annual electricity production of approximately 97 GWh/year. This is more than five times more than what the existing 15 wind turbines produce in total; roughly 19 GWh/year. The municipality reported a total electricity consumption of approximately 623 GWh in 2021. (Energimynverket, 2021) With the example design, the four new plants would contribute to just over 15% of the municipality's total electricity consumption.

Renewable Sweden thanks for the trust and looks forward to an exciting environmental trial.
