Join Renewable Sweden as our next Senior Environmental and Permitting Consultant.

Environment & permit

Renewable Sweden AB, based in Falkenberg, is a niche consultancy with extensive collective experience in renewable energy. Founded in 2018, the company now employs 17 professionals with solid expertise in project development, onshore and offshore wind power, and large-scale solar power in Sweden. We are now taking on new and exciting assignments, clients, and partners, and are looking to strengthen our team with an experienced new colleague.

What we offer

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Environmental and Permitting Consultant with a focus on onshore and offshore wind power, as well as large-scale solar energy. As our next Environmental and Permitting Consultant, you will be a key part of our permitting team and take responsibility for the aspects of project development that involve assessments under the Swedish Environmental Code or other relevant legislation. In this role, you will work closely with our clients throughout the project lifecycle—from initial studies to court hearings.

You may lead projects as the assignment manager, guiding a junior permitting consultant, or independently handle all permitting-related activities in a project. You may also work with other emerging fields such as e-fuels or energy storage.

As a Senior Environmental and Permitting Consultant, your responsibilities will include

  • Project management in the environmental and permitting area, including planning, coordination, and follow-up.
  • Ongoing client communication and strategic advisory.
  • Using GIS to analyze land area suitability for energy production with regard to residential environments, nature, landscape, cultural heritage, infrastructure, and outdoor recreation.
  • Leading and managing environmental assessment processes for large-scale wind and solar power.
  • Procuring subcontractors and other relevant project services.
  • Planning, conducting, and documenting site visits.
  • Taking responsibility for project optimization, risk analysis, and strategy regarding environmental impact.
  • Preparing consultation documents and conducting consultations with authorities, local residents, the Sámi community, and other stakeholders.
  • Preparing permit applications, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and monitoring programs.
  • Contributing to long-term sustainable energy projects through measures such as implementing protective strategies, adopting new technologies, and analyzing environmental benefits.
  • Participating in quality reviews, business development, and mentoring junior colleagues.

We offer a stimulating work environment, exciting projects, and the opportunity to contribute to a sustainable future.

What we expect from you

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 3 years of experience working with environmental assessments and permitting processes for renewable energy. Knowledge of environmental law, EIA, GIS, and large-scale solar energy is a plus. You have a post-secondary education in environmental science, urban planning, nature conservation, or a related field.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical. You enjoy working in a team and have strong communication skills. You express yourself well in writing and have the ability to drive processes forward.

Work location

At one of our offices in Falkenberg (Batterivägen 2) or Gothenburg (Sankt Eriksgatan 6), with the possibility to work from home two days a week.
